SÃO PAULO E-PRIX: OVERTUIGENDE OVERWINNING JAGUAR TCS RACING
Jaguar TCS Racing-coureur Mitch Evans heeft zijn eerste overwinning van het ABB FIA Formula E World Championship seizoen 2023 te pakken. Tijdens de eerste São Paulo E-Prix was Evans iedereen te snel af in zijn Jaguar I-TYPE 6. Teamgenoot Sam Bird finishte als derde en vergezelde Evans op het podium. Door dit dubbele podium pakt Jaguar TCS Racing 41 waardevolle punten en staat het team nu derde in het teamklassement in het huidige Formula E-seizoen.
Voor het oog van 23.000 toeschouwers maakte Jaguar TCS Racing – na de frustrerende start van dit seizoen – een machtige comeback op het snelle Braziliaanse Sambadrome-circuit. Tijdens de race toonden de Jaguar-coureurs hun vaardigheid en snelheid in de Jaguar I-TYPE 6 en voerden ze de teamstrategie perfect uit.
Prachtige race voor Evans
Mitch Evans stond na een sterke kwalificatie als derde op de startgrid. Hij had een goede start, behield zijn positie en nam in ronde 7 de tweede plaats over van Porsche-coureur Da Costa. Ondanks dat Evans tijdens de zenuwslopende race van 35 ronden nog terugviel naar de vierde plaats, hield hij vast aan zijn sterke energiestrategie en pakte hij uiteindelijk de leiding en de winst.
TAG Heuer Fastest Lap
Sam Bird reed een van zijn beste races van het seizoen en klom maar liefst zeven posities nadat hij als tiende was gestart. Hij had een gunstige energiestrategie en kon daardoor diverse posities winnen. Vervolgens ging hij de strijd aan met Nick Cassidy van Envision Racing, een team dat Jaguar-technologie gebruikt. Sam finishte uiteindelijk als derde en veroverde ook de ‘TAG Heuer Fastest Lap’-award, wat hem een extra punt opleverde. Cassidy behaalde een waardige tweede plaats en schreef daarmee Formula E-geschiedenis voor Jaguar.
Het dominante resultaat in São Paulo plaatst Sam Bird op de zesde plaats in het rijdersklassement van het ABB FIA Formula E World Championship 2023. Mitch Evans is opgeklommen naar de negende plaats.

De zevende en achtste ronde van het ABB FIA Formula E World Championship 2023 vindt plaats in Berlijn, Duitsland. Jaguar TCS Racing trekt daar op 22 en 23 april ten strijde, op jacht naar nog meer punten.
